Abstract: |
The forests in the Changbai Mountain area play an important role in maintaining ecological balance and regional ecological security. Based on Forest Resource Inventory data and samples survey data of Lushuihe Forestry Bureau, forest health was evaluated at stand and landscape scale. At stand scale, 7 evaluation indexes were established in terms of integrity, stability and sustainability based on modern systems science theory. At landscape scale, 5 evaluation indexes were established from the structure and pattern, function and process based on landscape ecology theory. The results showed that: in 2003 and 2010, at stand level, the area of healthy and less healthy accounted for 35.32%, 35.67% (2003) and 31.30%, 40.26% (2010) of the total forest area, the less healthy and unhealthy area accounted for 7.59%, 7.71% (2003) and 14.98%, 7.20% (in 2010), respectively. The proportion of healthy and less healthy of forest stands arised in 2010. At landscape scale, the health conditions of weed, walnut, ash, spruce and other forests were poor. From 2003 to 2010, health status at landscape scale of elm forest and pine forest had been improved except the ash forest. Therefore, it was urgent to enhance the comprehensive management of forest health in Lushuihe Forestry Bureau. |
