Abstract:
【Purpose】 This paper aimes to analyze the agricultural development trends, explore the opportunities and challenges in the development of agricultural remote-sensing,and put forward corresponding suggestions for the development of agricultural remote-sensing in the arid regions of Northwest China.【Method】 The paper analyzed the urgent needs for agricultural remote-sensing technology in aspects such as investigation of characteristic agricultural resources in arid areas, selection of drought-resistant germplasm resources, development of modern agriculture in arid areas, regional farmland protection, rural revitalization in arid areas, and implementation of the "Belt and Road" initiative. On this basis, this paper discussed the problems faced by the development of agricultural remote-sensing in the arid areas of Northwest China, such as multiple crop objects, harsh natural conditions, appearance of new platforms and new data, difficulties in direct application of existing remote-sensing products, and lack of field observation data and regional expert knowledge. However, national policies and scientific development provided opportunities for the development of remote-sensing technology in arid areas. And corresponding development suggestions were put forward.【Results】 Agricultural development in the arid areas had an extremely urgent need for agricultural remote-sensing technology, but the current agricultural remote-sensing algorithms and products were difficult to meet the customized needs of regional agricultural development in the arid areas of Northwest China.【Conclusion】 Through constructing sample databases for agricultural remote-sensing with characteristics of arid areas, strengthening the research on algorithms for agricultural remote-sensing with characteristics of arid areas, establishing a three-dimensional sky-ground monitoring network for saline-alkali lands in northwest arid areas, improving the national agricultural remote-sensing network, and establishing a multi-level cooperation mechanism and platform for agricultural remote-sensing in arid areas, the development and application of agricultural remote-sensing technology will be strengthened in arid regions of Northwest China. In general, the promotion of the development of new agricultural productivity is an urgent task for the high-quality development of agriculture in the arid areas of Northwest China, which is also an inevitable trend for the discipline of agricultural remote sensing.
