Abstract: |
Improving the level of integration of migrant workers into cities and towns is an important requirement for promoting a new type of people-centered urbanization. Based on the dual perspectives of livelihood capital level and structure, this paper empirically analyzed the impact of livelihood capital on migrant workers' urban integration by using OLS regression model. The results were listed as follows. (1) There were obvious differences in the level and structure of migrant workers' livelihood capital. From the perspective of level, the overall level of livelihood capital for migrant workers was relatively low. The order of the measured value of livelihood capital in each dimension was physical capital > natural capital > financial capital > social capital > human capital, in which material capital stock was the highest and human capital stock was the least. (2) From the perspective of structure, there were more migrant workers dominated by physical capital and natural capital, and fewer migrant workers dominated by human capital, social capital and financial capital. Livelihood capital had a significant impact on the integration of migrant workers into cities and towns both horizontally and structurally. Among them, physical capital, human capital and social capital had a significant positive impact on the integration of migrant workers into cities and towns. (3) The dominant type of natural capital had a significant negative impact on migrant workers' urban integration, while the dominant type of social capital had a significant positive impact on the urban integration of migrant workers. Therefore, this research believes that multi-dimensional improvement of the livelihood capital level of migrant workers and leveraging the combination effect of livelihood capital are important measures to promote their urban integration. |
